Structural & Behavioral Adaptations

Structural Adaptions:  (1) This herbivore has thick fur to keep warm in the winter. (2). The hares fur can also change colors in the spring and in the winter. In the spring it may change into a blue-gray color to blend into the local rocks and vegetation.

Functional Adaptations:  (1) They protect themselves by digging burrows and shelters in feet deep of snow.  (2)  They live in large groups to avoid prey.
