Gull

Facts:

the Arctic Tern is well known for its long yearly migration. It travels from its Arctic breeding grounds to Antarctica where it enjoys the Antarctic summer, covering around 25,000 miles. Breeding birds sport a full black cap, short red legs, and a red bill.

Structural Adaptation 1:  Gulls have hollow bones for less weight while flying.

Structural Adaptation 2:  Gulls have short legs that aid an aerodynamic shape in the air but make the birds rather clumsy on the ground.

Behavioral Adaptation 1:  Opportunistic scavengers who have no fear of humans.

Behavioral Adaptation 2:  They fly around parking lots and bridges to absorb radiant heat.
